Week 9- Idea

My idea is constructing a time based archiving landscape by communicating the ideas, strategies and behaviours. With this archive, i will try to find the forms occurred in the system.

I am participating among two landscapes` mutual influence systems by disturbing my visual conception with interference pattern. I am looking for the information which is archiving in time and its transmission to another landscape.

I am using the idea of morphic resonance and morphic field as my reference. Sheldrake believes there is another information system of equal important to DNA-RNA for creating the human body and mind. The things in nature not only formed by energy, also ideas and habits affect the form of nature. Memory is inherent in nature. Most of the so-called laws of nature are more like habits. Morphic fields underlie our mental activity and our perceptions, and lead to a new theory of vision. Through morphic resonance, formative causal influences pass through or across both space and time, and these influences are assumed not to fall off with distance in space or time, but they come only from the past. (Sheldrake, 1998)

In my project, the landscape is a morphic field and the connections between landscapes can be likened the memories in nature. The planet`s system is sensitive to resonance. The lines are recording human behaviour and habits by morphic resonance. They are very similar to each other formally; however there are also very different patterns in patches. They show the records of different habits.

The idea of morphic field can be likened to architect’s blueprint which exists independently of and prior to the building of the house. It is the blueprint which informs the builder where to place what type of materials. (http://www.i-can-soar.com/glossary.htm#morphogenetic)

Week 8- Animation: Losing the direction

I designed a boundless moiré patterned space and the object losing the direction. Here I was looking for the idea of remembering and forgetting. “Much forgetting appears to occur because of the interference of subsequent similar patterns of experience and activity. For example, we cannot recall all separate occasions on which we have driven a car, although these cumulative experiences underlie our driving skills." (Sheldrake, 1998. p208)

Week 7- The reflecting parallel landscapes

Week 7- Video: The parallel time

I am observing the habits as a participant in space like i am in a corridor and looking the phenomena from different layers. (From inside to outside and from outside to inside)

Week 7- Video: Feedback system-drawing the drawing of the drawing...

I am producing layers in different ways. I am using the idea of the copy of a copy in a feedback system. Different layers with different densities. (The act of writing of writing was central to the monks life, before the printing press they used to reproduce texts by hand. The Book of Kells is an example of this.)

Week 7- Video, experiment: Communication between two landscapes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct_g9d9durc
Vibration creates interference pattern in the water. And I observed how objects are affected from this vibration differently. These objects can be likened different landscapes in nature.
